FAQs

+ How long is the rear camera cable, is it included and how do I plug it in?

The rear camera cable is six metres long and is included with the bundle. Please see page 17 of the manual for rear camera fitting instructions and diagrams.

+ What is the 320XR front cam screen size and is it touchscreen?

The screen size is 2.5 inches and is not a touchscreen. Please use the buttons to operate the Dash Cam.

+ Why would I need a Hard Wire Kit?

If you intend on using Parking Mode on your camera, then we would instead recommend using a Hard Wire Kit, not the Cigarette Lighter Cable. The Hard Wire Kit will allow the camera to draw nominal current from the car's battery, preventing the cam's battery from being drained. The Hard Wire Kit has an in-built voltage cut off which protects the car's battery from being drained below 11.2V. We'd recommend using a Permanent Live fuse with Parking Mode enabled.

+ When I press the Menu button nothing happens & There’s no PC Connection screen when connected to my computer?

This is normal during recording. Stop the recording before pressing the MENU button. If recording re-starts before you can press MENU, then see the Parking Mode section above.

Try multiple USB ports and an alternative mini USB cable (if possible).

Please ensure it is inserted into the USB port on the Dash Cam and not into the mount.

+ I cannot remove the MicroSD card.

With the card installed, using your fingernail, you now need to push the card further inwards slightly, until you hear and feel a small click.

If you are having difficulty, use the edge of a small coin.

Release pressure and the MicroSD card will spring out far enough for you to take a hold of it.

+ What is the recording format of the 320XR & What resolution does the 320XR record at?

Both cams record in MP4.

The recording resolutions for the 320XR are:

Front- 1080p @ 30fps with Rear- 1080p @ 30fps.

Front 720p @ 30fps with Rear- 720p @ 30fps.

+ What type of Micro SD card should I use in the 320XR and what is the maximum compatible Micro SD card size?

The maximum compatible SD card for the 320XR is 128GB. We would recommend a Dash Cam compatible 8GB-128GB U3 Micro SD card, specifically designed for Dash Cam or CCTV usage. We would recommend a Nextbase SD card for guaranteed functionality within a Nextbase product.

+ When I turn my camera on, the screen has frozen and/or the camera is making an audible alarm.

This is symptomatic of an SD card failure.

Please check that your card is not larger than 128GB and has a minimum U1 class.

Please remove the SD card, then press the reset button on the underside of the Dash Cam. Then, without the SD card inserted, please turn on the Camera. Does it now start normally? If so, then the SD card has either failed due to lack of formatting or is not compatible for Dash Cam usage.

+ The screen blanks after a few minutes upon my Dash Cam.

The screen saver is set to ON. Change settings to OFF if required. Default setting is OFF.

+ Why do I need to update my Dash Cam's firmware & How do I check my Dash Cam's current firmware version?

Our Developers are always working to improve the functionality of our cameras and provide new features, such as different languages. We can do this even once you have your camera by releasing new firmware. To benefit from these improvements and updates, please check your Dash Cam's firmware and update it if there's an update available.

Check firmware Version

You can easily check what firmware version your Dash Cam currently has on the Dash Cam itself.

1) Turn the Dash Cam on

2) Stop it recording

3) Press the Menu Button Twice to enter the Setup Menu.

4) Scroll down to ‘System Info’

5) Look at the Firmware number RXX.XX

Then compare it to the Firmware number stated above.
